deidreelliott asked: okay so i need help! im doing a six week challenge for my flexibility. so, i do have my weaknesses. what im trying to work on now is during my downward facing dog, i know my back isnt arched properly. like, i need to arch it in and stick my butt out. is the correct? or do you know what i am doing wrong and what i need to do? trying thst sort of hurts, but im not entirely sure what to do and i dont want to continue doing it wrong. thanks!
In down dog, think of chest towards thighs and spiraling your inner thighs towards the back of the room. That should give you the feeling of *sitting on the ceiling*.
You don’t really want an arched back. So if the belly is “loose” or the lower back is scrunched bc you’re trying to “sit on the ceiling”, consciously engage your core and flatten the back.
Thanks for the question!
