I dont know where this photo came from but I looked closer and its Jon Gosselin!
His up dog could use some fixing!
1. Elbows - Jon’s are locked. He should have a slight bend in them.
2. His chin is really close to his shoulders which suggests to me he’s “resting” in his locked arms. He should drop his shoulders and “shine his heart” more. Draw the abs in and up (help his chest puff out more, also protects the lower back).
3. His knees are resting on the ground. Engage the quads to lift the knees. His butt looks clenched as well. Relax the ass.
When it comes to form, I say that you should sometimes push yourself every now and then slightly beyond your ‘perfect form’ edge. To progress, you’re going to hold poses incorrectly until the muscles figure it out. To put it nicely, you’re going to fail! But if you continuously do a pose incorrectly, you are training your muscles to do the pose incorrectly. You’re also more than likely going to injure yourself. Back off your ego and go down to an easier modification. If Jon has been doing Up Dog like this and he’s making no effort to improve it, he needs to back down to his cobra pose until he’s physically and/or mentally ready for Up Dog.
