“Consider Back Pain a Gift”

I was reading a slideshow and came across this comment.

I look at my weaknesses as weaknesses. So the next time I get bummed out about a facet of myself, I’ll try to find the upside - what I learned, how it has humbled me, how it has encouraged me to work harder ….

Context:

If you can shift your perspective about back pain, you may recognize it as a blessing. Miller says her scoliosis has been a journey of self-discovery: “It’s made me pay attention and be more centered.” She’s far more conscious of her body and her alignment when practicing yoga. When you have back pain, your body provides feedback that’s harder to ignore, so you become more sensitive to misalignment. And when you are aligned and feel better, you’re more motivated to stay in alignment. You’ll be less inclined to “just live with the pain” if you know how to reduce and prevent it. Yoga can help you do that, she says.
